Cars arriving in Albuquerque come from across the country, with Florida, California, Texas, New York, Virginia and North Carolina together accounting for roughly half of inbound shipments on record. That broad mix means long-haul routes shape delivery planning, so share your target date early.

Best quote I got for an enclosed trailer and was totally worth it! The sales rep was very friendly and professional and so was the driver, kept me informed throughout the process and even delivered a day early to what I was originaly given.
I almost went with another company, but the positive reviews and better pricing convinced me to give these guys a shot. Great communication, professional driver, and an overall easy experience.
5 stars. Very professional, easy to communicate with, and no hidden surprises. Highly recommend this broker!
Distance and route demand shape carrier costs. A Los Angeles run is a western lane, while New York or Boston calls for a much longer trip from Albuquerque.
Winter snow and ice can close mountain passes and northern highways. Summer monsoon storms can bring flash flooding, disrupting routes and affecting carrier availability.
Larger vehicles take up more trailer space and can weigh more, which can affect how a carrier loads and prices your shipment.
A carrier may not be able to reach every address in Old Town, Downtown or Barelas with a large truck. Street access can affect the pickup plan.
Open transport carries vehicles on an open trailer. Enclosed transport offers added protection for high-value cars and uses a different, higher-cost service.

If your move stays within New Mexico, offer more than one pickup date; in-state moves are rare among shipments leaving Albuquerque.
For pickups in Old Town, Downtown or Barelas, suggest a nearby wide street early if a large truck may not fit at your address.
If your car is arriving from Florida or California, arrange a local contact who can receive it if your own travel plans run late.
For a Bernalillo County MVD trip, check whether your vehicle needs an emissions test first; electric and diesel vehicles are exempt.
Avoid building your plans around a single handoff day during winter pass closures or summer monsoon storms.

Moving to Albuquerque? Plan for New Mexico registration steps and Bernalillo County emissions requirements as part of your move.
New Mexico sets no fixed grace period. Register any car you drive here; MVD treats you as a resident after working in the state for 30 days within a 60-day period. [NM MVD]
Every car coming from another state needs an MVD field-office VIN inspection; bring the out-of-state title, proof of New Mexico residency, insurance listing the VIN and Form MVD 10002. Some offices require appointments; Bernalillo County residents also need a passing emissions certificate. [NM MVD]
New Mexico requires 25/50/10 liability coverage: $25,000 for one person hurt, $50,000 for two or more people hurt in one crash, and $10,000 for property damage. [NM MVD]
In Bernalillo County, testing applies to residents and people commuting 60 or more days a year. Gas cars and trucks from model year 1991 or newer, up to 10,000 lbs, must pass every two years; electric and diesel vehicles are exempt. [NM MVD]
Windshield tint is limited to the top 5 inches or above the AS-1 line. Side/rear windows must allow 20% light and cannot be reflective; windows behind the driver in SUVs, vans and multipurpose vehicles may be any darkness. [NMSA 66-3-846.1]
Pickup and delivery can be arranged around Old Town, Downtown, Uptown, Nob Hill and Barelas, with access via I-25, I-40, NM 45, NM 47, NM 423 and NM 500. SAKAEM also serves Las Cruces and Santa Fe.

New to auto transport? Here's how to ship a car, step by step.
For open transport of running vehicles, typical quotes on record are $875–$1,250 from Albuquerque and $925–$1,275 to Albuquerque. These figures describe the middle half of customer quotes, not a guaranteed charge. Your exact quote depends on the lane, vehicle, timing and pickup details.
For Albuquerque-to-Los Angeles shipments, the road estimate is 0–3 days; Albuquerque-to-Chicago is 1–5 days, and Albuquerque-to-New York is 3–7 days. These are typical days on the road after pickup, not total booking-to-delivery time; estimates aren't guarantees. Winter pass closures and summer monsoon storms can also affect the schedule.
Carriers arranged through SAKAEM are FMCSA-licensed and insured. They carry at least $1,000,000 in liability coverage and $100,000 in cargo insurance. Keep your own coverage questions separate from the carrier's cargo protection, and ask for the carrier's insurance details before pickup.
SAKAEM allows up to 100 lbs of personal items in the trunk, kept below the window line. Pack belongings securely and leave valuables, important documents and anything loose outside the car. Make sure the trunk load stays within the limit when the vehicle is ready for pickup.
SAKAEM can arrange transport for a non-running vehicle if it rolls, brakes and steers, and a key is available. Tell us its condition before booking so the carrier can confirm suitable loading equipment and plan the pickup. Be clear about any issue that affects steering or braking.
You can pay by card, or pay the carrier by cash or certified check; Zelle and Venmo are also accepted. Confirm the payment method and timing in your booking details before pickup, especially if someone else will handle the handoff.
A designated adult must be at both pickup and delivery to inspect the vehicle with the carrier and sign the Bill of Lading. If you cannot be there, name a trusted adult ahead of time and make sure they can access the car and review its condition.
