Sakaem Logistics transported my son's Acura from Los Angeles, CA to Waco, Texas in 5 days. Tim, who drove the transport was professional and courteous and kept communications prior to pickup and close to delivery time. Everything went smoothly with no issues. Price was competitive with other firms. I will use Sakaem again and highly recommend them for your transport needs.

Distance and route demand both matter: El Paso’s listed lanes include Houston, Dallas, and Austin, as well as longer runs to New York and Washington, DC. The route affects road time and carrier availability.
Atlantic hurricane season can disrupt Gulf Coast routes through Houston, Galveston, and Corpus Christi, while rare winter ice can close highways in North and Central Texas. Either can affect carrier availability for an El Paso move.
A pickup typically costs more to move than a sedan, while an SUV or crossover is closer to sedan pricing. Larger vehicles take up more trailer space and can change the quote.
Tight streets and gated communities can make carrier access harder. Around Downtown or Chihuahuita, truck access and a suitable loading spot can affect how easily a driver reaches you.
Enclosed transport adds protection from road exposure and usually costs more. It can suit high-value cars, while open transport is a practical choice for everyday vehicles.

Give the carrier some scheduling flexibility and suggest a safe, wide meeting point near I-10 or US-54 if your street is hard for a truck to reach.
For routes through Houston, Galveston, or Corpus Christi during Atlantic hurricane season, leave room in your travel plans in case weather affects the route.
Give the vehicle’s make, model, and body style when you request a quote. A sedan, SUV, and pickup can price differently on El Paso routes.
For a long lane like El Paso to New York, coordinate delivery with your own arrival so you can receive the car without extra handoff hassle.
If you live in Downtown or Chihuahuita, ask your building manager or a nearby contact to help identify a truck-friendly place for pickup.

Moving to El Paso from out of state? Use this checklist to line up your Texas paperwork after your car arrives.
If you move to Texas, register your car within 30 days or you may have to pay penalty fees [TxDMV].
El Paso County requires an emissions test before registration. First get Texas car insurance, then take your out-of-state title or registration, completed Form 130-U, ID, and proof of insurance to the county tax office [TxDMV].
Texas requires at least 30/60/25 liability coverage: $30,000 for injuries per person, up to $60,000 per accident, and $25,000 for property damage [TDI].
Since January 1, 2025, regular non-commercial cars no longer need a safety inspection in Texas. At registration, drivers pay a $7.50 inspection-program replacement fee; commercial vehicles still need inspection [TxDMV].
Front side windows must let in at least 25% of light and reflect no more than 25%; windshield tint is allowed above the AS-1 line or in the top 5 inches. Rear-window darkness is allowed with outside mirrors on both sides [Tex. Transp. Code 547.613].

New to auto transport? Here's how to ship a car, step by step.
For open transport of a running vehicle, the middle half of quotes on record for shipping from El Paso is $900–$1,325; shipping to El Paso is $1,000–$1,400. Your quote depends on the route, vehicle, pickup access, and transport type you choose.
Typical road transit is 1–4 days to Houston, 0–3 days to Dallas, and 3–7 days to New York. Transit starts after pickup, and these are estimates, not guarantees; scheduling the pickup itself can vary.
Each carrier SAKAEM books is FMCSA-licensed and insured, with at least $1,000,000 in liability coverage and $100,000 in cargo insurance. Ask for the carrier’s coverage details before pickup, and review the vehicle condition at delivery. Keep your personal auto policy in place during transport.
You can send up to 100 lbs of personal items in the trunk or below the window line. Keep the load within that limit and remove valuables, loose items, and anything you need during the trip. The carrier transports the vehicle, so don’t treat it as a packed moving van.
SAKAEM can arrange transport for a non-running car if it rolls, brakes, and steers, and you provide a key. Tell us its condition before booking so the carrier can bring suitable loading equipment and price the move accurately. A vehicle that cannot meet those requirements may need another loading plan.
You can pay by card, or pay the carrier with cash or a certified check; Zelle and Venmo are accepted. SAKAEM does not require an upfront deposit. Confirm the payment method and timing with your coordinator before pickup so you know what to have ready.
A designated adult must be at both pickup and delivery to inspect the vehicle with the driver and sign the Bill of Lading. If you cannot be there, arrange for a trusted adult to handle the handoff and make sure they can access the car and review its condition.
