We had a communication breakdown initially, but everything worked out well! 10/10 service!
Fast and reliable service. Highly recommended. Will use again in the future. Fair pricing.
Communication was good. No surprise charges. I was not there for the pick up or the delivery, but everything went as planned. First time using a service like this and it was pretty painless. I recommend these guys do to how smooth everything went.
Route mileage and carrier availability shape the price. Alexandria-to-Los Angeles and Alexandria-to-Dallas moves have different linehaul needs, so their quotes won't match.
Snowbird demand can affect Florida-bound lanes. Virginia's winter snow and ice can slow deliveries across the state, while hurricane season can delay coastal moves such as those to Hampton Roads.
Larger or heavier vehicles take more room on a carrier and can require different loading. That can raise the quote compared with a standard sedan.
Tight streets around Old Town or Parker-Gray can limit where a carrier can safely load. Difficult access may mean the driver needs a more open pickup spot nearby.
Open transport is the common option for everyday vehicles. Enclosed transport adds protection for high-value cars, but the extra coverage and limited carrier space can increase the price.

Use open transport for a standard daily driver; reserve enclosed service for a valuable classic or specialty car that needs added protection.

New to auto transport? Here's how to ship a car, step by step.
For a running car on open transport, typical Alexandria quotes are $900–$1,225 to ship out and $800–$1,275 to ship in; these ranges cover the middle half of customer quotes on record. Alexandria's outbound quotes are about the same as the Washington metro overall. Your route, vehicle size and pickup access shape the final offer, and enclosed service costs more.
Alexandria to Los Angeles typically takes 4–9 days on the road after pickup; Dallas typically takes 2–6 days. Transit estimates start after pickup and aren't guarantees. Weather, traffic and carrier schedules can affect arrival, so keep your delivery contact reachable as the driver coordinates the handoff.
All SAKAEM carriers are FMCSA-licensed and insured; carriers carry at least $1,000,000 in liability coverage and $100,000 in cargo insurance. Ask what the carrier's policy covers for your vehicle, and note any existing damage during the pickup inspection. Your personal auto policy may also have terms for a car in transit, so check with your insurer.
You may place up to 100 lbs of personal items in the trunk or below the window line. Keep loose valuables, documents and anything fragile with you, and do not pack items above the window line. This allowance does not apply to Hawaii ocean shipments.
Yes. SAKAEM can arrange transport for a non-running vehicle if it rolls, brakes and steers, and you provide a key. Tell us its condition before booking so the carrier can bring the right loading equipment and price the move correctly. SAKAEM does not ship boats.
There is no upfront deposit, and cancellation is free. You can pay by card, or pay the carrier by cash or certified check; Zelle and Venmo are accepted. Confirm the agreed payment method before pickup so you know who to pay and when.
A designated adult must be at both pickup and delivery to inspect the car and sign the Bill of Lading. If you cannot attend, arrange for someone you trust to handle both handoffs and give them access to the keys and shipment details.
