For typical running sedans, enclosed transport costs more than open. SUVs and crossovers tend to align with sedans on open carriers, while pickups usually cost more because they take more carrier space.

Spartanburg’s arriving cars most often come from California, with Florida and Texas next; Washington, Colorado, and North Carolina also appear among leading origins. Those long-haul and regional routes mean timing depends on the lane and carrier schedules.

Simply amazing. This company and the driver were phenomenal in making this a smooth process. Exceeded all expectations, not the least of which was the quick delivery. Fast Friendly and easy service. Will definitely use them again in the future. Worth every penny.
A little late on picking up the vehicle, but absolutely exceeded expectations at getting the vehicle delivered earlier than any of us expected. Car was in perfect shape and the driver (Nicoli) was very patient and pleasant to deal with. Truly changed my mind about shipping a vehicle across country in the future. An amazingly great experience. Worth every penny.
Needed to ship a vehicle from GA to MA and was looking for a local company. Delivery was super fast and I got a great price compared to some others I got online. Appreciate the help!
A cross-country move from California or Washington covers more road than a Southeast route from Florida or North Carolina. The distance and demand on each lane affect the carrier offer.
South Carolina’s Atlantic hurricane season runs June 1 to November 30. Storms can disrupt coastal routes near Charleston, Myrtle Beach, and Hilton Head, tightening carrier availability and affecting quotes.
Larger vehicles take up more carrier space. A pickup can cost more to move than a sedan, while an SUV or crossover may price closer to a sedan.
Tight streets, gates, or limited truck access in neighborhoods like Converse Heights can make a direct pickup harder. A carrier may need a nearby place with room to load safely.
Open transport is the common choice for everyday cars. Enclosed carriers add protection for high-value vehicles, but usually cost more.

If your street is narrow or gated, arrange a legal meeting spot near I-85 Business or US-29 and confirm it with your carrier.
For a California or Washington route, offer a flexible pickup window so dispatch can work with available westbound carrier schedules.
If your route passes through Charleston or Myrtle Beach during hurricane season, keep your pickup and delivery plans flexible.
Choose open transport for a standard daily driver. Request enclosed transport when extra weather and road-debris protection matters for your car.
Tell the carrier the car’s condition and any access limits before pickup. That helps avoid last-minute changes at your Spartanburg address.

A move to South Carolina brings registration and insurance tasks beyond getting your car to Spartanburg. Use this checklist to plan the paperwork after delivery.
With a properly registered out-of-state car, register it in South Carolina within 45 days. If the old registration has expired, register right away. [S.C. Code 56-3-211]
Get a paid property-tax receipt from the Spartanburg County treasurer. Bring Form 400, out-of-state title or registration, ID, SC-licensed insurance proof, and receipt to SCDMV; add the one-time $250 Infrastructure Maintenance Fee and title/plate fees. [SCDMV]
Carry at least 25/50/25 liability: $25,000 per injured person, $50,000 for everyone hurt in one crash, and $25,000 for property damage. Uninsured motorist coverage must match. [S.C. Code 38-77-140]
Side windows and the back window must allow at least 27% light. SUVs, vans, and other multipurpose vehicles may use darker windows behind the driver (not pickups); windshield tint can reach only AS-1, and every aftermarket-tinted window needs an installer compliance sticker. [S.C. Code 56-5-5015]

New to auto transport? Here's how to ship a car, step by step.
For open transport of a running vehicle, typical quotes on record are $675–$1,100 to ship from Spartanburg and $725–$1,250 to ship in. These ranges cover the middle half of customer quotes, so your vehicle, route, timing, and pickup access can shift the final offer.
For outbound Spartanburg routes, Miami and New York are estimated at 0–3 days; Houston and Dallas, 1–4; Los Angeles, Las Vegas, and Phoenix, 3–7; and Seattle, 4–9. Transit starts after pickup, and these estimates are not guarantees. The pickup date is separate from time on the road.
SAKAEM books with FMCSA-licensed, insured carriers carrying at least $1,000,000 in liability and $100,000 in cargo insurance. Before loading, ask for the carrier’s insurance details and confirm how to document any damage at delivery. Keep your inspection notes and signed Bill of Lading with your records.
SAKAEM allows up to 100 lbs of personal items in the trunk or below the window line. Keep items secured within that space, and ask before loading anything bulky. Remove valuables and anything you will need during the trip so they stay with you.
SAKAEM can arrange transport for a non-running car if it rolls, brakes, and steers and comes with a key. Tell us its condition when requesting a quote so dispatch can plan the pickup. If it cannot meet those conditions, ask before booking.
You can pay by card, or pay the carrier by cash or certified check; Zelle and Venmo are also accepted. Confirm your chosen method before pickup so you know whether payment goes to SAKAEM or the carrier and can have it ready for the handoff.
A designated adult must be present at both pickup and delivery to inspect the car and sign the Bill of Lading. Choose someone who can review the condition notes, hand over keys when needed, and raise any concerns before the driver leaves.
