Cars arriving in Virginia Beach most often come from California, followed by Texas and Florida; Washington, Arizona, and Colorado also rank among the leading origins on record. These long-distance routes can take longer to coordinate than nearby moves, and coastal weather may affect the final stretch into Hampton Roads.

I was in need a of shipping a vehicle from Atlanta to San Diego, booked last Monday, a driver came to pick up the vehicle on Tuesday and the vehicle was in San Diego by Saturday - outstanding!!! Thanks guys, will be using your services again!
Best quote I got for an enclosed trailer and was totally worth it! The sales rep was very friendly and professional and so was the driver, kept me informed throughout the process and even delivered a day early to what I was originaly given.
I almost went with another company, but the positive reviews and better pricing convinced me to give these guys a shot. Great communication, professional driver, and an overall easy experience.
A Virginia Beach-to-California move covers far more road miles than a Houston or Miami lane. Distance, route demand, and carrier positioning all affect the quote.
Atlantic hurricane season runs June 1 to November 30 and can delay coastal deliveries around Hampton Roads; winter snow and ice can slow routes statewide. Seasonal carrier demand can also affect availability.
Larger or heavier vehicles use more trailer space. An SUV or pickup can cost more to move than a sedan, while the vehicle’s condition can affect the equipment and handling needed.
Tight streets, gated communities, or limited truck access in areas like the Oceanfront can require a different meetup plan, which may affect the quote.
Open transport is the common choice for everyday cars. Enclosed transport offers more protection for high-value vehicles, but it uses a more specialized service.

For a California-bound shipment, settle on San Diego or Los Angeles as the destination before dispatch; both are established Virginia Beach lanes.
For an Oceanfront or Sandbridge pickup, arrange a legal, truck-friendly meeting point ahead of time if your street is tight or gated.
Take the E-ZPass transponder out of the car before loading and store it with your travel items. Virginia's I-64 Express Lanes use E-ZPass. [E-ZPass VA]
Keep your keys and vehicle paperwork in your move-day bag, not a packed carton, so you can find them quickly at handoff.
Wash and photograph the vehicle before pickup, including existing marks, and keep the photos available through delivery.

New to auto transport? Here's how to ship a car, step by step.
For open transport with a running vehicle, typical quotes on record from Virginia Beach are $900–$1,350; to Virginia Beach, they are $875–$1,375. These are the middle half of customer quotes on record, not a guaranteed price. Your exact quote depends on the route, vehicle, pickup access, and service.
For shipments from Virginia Beach to Houston, typical road transit is 2–6 days; to Miami, it is 1–4 days; and to San Diego, it is 4–10 days. Transit estimates start after pickup and are not guarantees. Pickup planning and coastal weather can also affect the full door-to-door timeline.
SAKAEM uses FMCSA-licensed and insured carriers that carry at least $1,000,000 in liability coverage and $100,000 in cargo insurance. Before pickup, ask the carrier how to report damage and keep the vehicle’s condition notes and photos together for a clear handoff. Review the carrier’s policy terms before shipment begins.
SAKAEM allows up to 100 lbs of personal items in the trunk or below the window line. Keep anything you leave inside secured, and remove valuables, fragile belongings, and important documents before loading. The allowance is for limited items, not a full household move.
SAKAEM can ship a non-running vehicle if it rolls, brakes, and steers, and you provide a key. Tell us about any mechanical issue before booking so the carrier can plan for the vehicle’s condition and loading needs. A car that cannot meet those conditions may need another arrangement.
SAKAEM accepts card payments, or you can pay the carrier by cash or certified check; Zelle and Venmo are accepted. Confirm the method the carrier expects before pickup, and have the agreed form ready when payment is due to keep the handoff straightforward.
A designated adult must be present at pickup and delivery to inspect the car and sign the Bill of Lading. If you cannot be there, name an adult you trust in advance and make sure they can access the car and review its condition with the driver.
